This exhibition explores peoples favourite places in Yorkshire through the medium of photography. Items on display will include the winning entries from our photography competition, pieces from the Herriot archive which have not been accessable to the public previously as well as Wight family photos which have special memories and significance.

Local author Mike Pannett visits the World of James Herriot to talk about his life as a local bobby and his newly published, second venture into the world of Publishing. The new book is due to be published in June, be one of the first to hear Mike talk first hand about the book

Join the Blue Cross for an action packed activity afternoon as we find out more about having pets and how to look after them.
Feathered Flights

Fly down to the World of James Herriot and meet the staff from Falconry UK Ltd and their feathered friends.
Batty about Bats
Thursday 20th August 2009, 2.00-3.30pm
The bats are back! Join bat expert Lesley Helliwell and her flappy friends as we discover facts about bats.

'Undressing Mr Darcy'
Friday 16 October 2009, 7.30pm
The evening will be hosted at The Old Courthouse, Thirsk and is in conjunction with Rural Arts.
Returning from a stroll about town, Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy prepares to undress... Is he a Rake, a Beau or a 'Pink of the Ton'? (Nearly) all will be revealed as our historical costume expert takes off the layers before your very eyes in this hugely popular presentation about the clothes of a Regency gentleman.

Christmas at Skeldale House
