From the A1 South
Follow the signs for Masham / Thirsk. Join the A61 Ripon road and when you reach the junction before the traffic lights on the bridge turn left to Thirsk.Keep following the signs to Thirsk which will bring you into Thirsk Market Place (approx 8 miles).

From the A1 North
Follow the signs for Ripon / Thirsk. Once you have come off the motorway follow the signs to Thirsk on the A61 Ripon road. Follow this road into Thirsk Market Place (approx 8 miles).

From the town centre
The World of James Herriot is situated on Kirkgate on the B1448 to Northallerton -a three minute walk from the Market Place.

Parking and Coach Parking
Car parking in Thirsk Market Place and on Kirkgate is restricted to two hours free disc parking. Discs are available from all shops.

All day free parking is available in Millgate car park. From the market place take Kirkgate (following the signs for Northallerton). Just past St Mary's Church turn right. There are two car parks along this road .You can also reach these car parks by taking the road out of the Market Place by following the signs for York / Teessideon to Millgate and taking th first left.

The Coach park is situated in Millgate car park. Coaches are allowed up to four hours parking.
